I had this unit and reviewed it, and have found many misgivings on this model.
Here's a quick review from my first roast:
I reached 1st crack in around 14 minutes, which is just audible!
In Summary: I do find this roaster is dressed up in sheeps clothing; so to speak, but really, it is no better that its predecessor which was also inconsistent and slow; yes, it does have Bluetooth and an app to set controls, and monitor your roasts, but you cannot repeat or reuse your saved profiles at this time!
It's a 300g capacity roaster, but I've tested it up to 350g, and it does the job fine!
The chaff collector is awkward to pull out on the bottom left corner, and the large gasket within the chaff drawer came out and proved difficult to put back in again!
The bottom middle USB connection is NOT powered, so you cannot use it to attach an LED light to view the roast more clearly!
The plastic casing of the roaster is thin and easily damaged, and the roaster safety lid is flimsy!
Best to purchase the older CBR-101 model, and save your money if you really wish to purchase this kind of roaster!
The CBR-301's retail price is around: £650 in the UK; way TOO much in my opinion!
VERDICT: A wolf in sheeps clothing; invest in a more consistent quality roaster that's worth the money; Avoid the Gene Cafe CBR-301
Update: user reports of CBR-301 heater failures are popping up online; just avoid this roaster model!
